ViVi was previously part of the unfortunate pet trade in primates. Kept in poor conditions, fed the wrong food, and tethered by the leg has resulted in her needing special care. She needed to have 1 leg amputated due to an injury caused by the tether. She has now settled in well and really enjoys spending time with her new caregivers.
ViVi is a Common Marmoset monkey Callithrix jacchus which are native to Brazil. They are a very small species of monkey which live in large family groups. They eat insects, fruits and tree gum. Due to their complex needs PRIMATES DO NOT MAKE GOOD PETS. Please do not buy primates as pets and help to stop this trade.
